Andrei Rovnyi
Software Developer · Engineering Manager · Founder

I'm a software developer, engineering manager, and founder with 15 years of experience building web platforms, game systems, real-time services, and digital products. Today I lead web development as an Engineering Manager at Gaijin Entertainment and run XPLOIT, my own independent game studio. This site is where that work lives in public — part portfolio, part blog, part technical notebook.
What I Do
Product & Full-Stack Engineering
I turn vague ideas into shipped products — early technical decisions, architecture, frontend, backend, deployment, analytics, and iteration. MVPs, dashboards, APIs, and internal tools on stacks I can stand behind in production.
Real-Time & High-Load Systems
My specialty: WebRTC, WebSockets, authoritative state, and infrastructure that stays up under pressure. I've built platforms serving hundreds of thousands of concurrent users and CI/CD pipelines with zero downtime at 10,000+ RPS peaks.
Game Development & Game Tech
Gameplay features, game UI engines, Unity workflows, monetization logic, analytics, and store integrations — both inside large studios and in my own games at XPLOIT.
Automation & AI Tooling
The tools that quietly remove manual work: LLM-powered utilities, AI content pipelines, admin panels, integrations, data scripts, and operational dashboards. Several of them run live on this site.
Experience
2023 — now
Engineering Manager — Gaijin Entertainment
Led UI development of War Thunder Mobile from development through worldwide launch, plus the web services around the game. Work in the ecosystems of War Thunder, Crossout, Active Matter, and Star Wrath.
2020 — 2022
CTO & Founder — ELOPUB
Built an esports platform for fully automated CS:GO tournaments from scratch into a $10M-valued company with investors from three countries. Led a team of 40+ across development, design, QA, and marketing; ran zero-downtime CI/CD at 10,000+ RPS peaks.
2019 — 2021
Team Lead / Lead Frontend Engineer — Wargaming, World of Tanks
Managed 35+ engineers across four teams. Drove the game's migration to the Coherent Gameface UI engine and built its component library; shipped major features including Frontline, Marathons, Tank Football, and the WoT 10th Anniversary.
2018 — 2019
Lead Frontend Engineer — Play2Live
Built the frontend of a streaming platform designed for hundreds of thousands of concurrent viewers: an RTC video player, live chat, and 50+ interactive widgets, served in SSR mode at tens of thousands of RPS.
Earlier
Co-founded StreamPub (CTO) and Gamestars, built insurance and e-commerce web products, and taught web development and 3D modeling.
Things I've Shipped
The best proof is running software. A few things you can try right now:
Tools on this site
Steam AI Disclosure
Fill Steam's mandatory AI content disclosure correctly.
Contract Red-Flag Scanner
Spot risky clauses in influencer and brand contracts.
JWT Decoder
Decode and verify JSON Web Tokens fully in your browser.
Image Converter
Convert PNG, JPEG, and WebP locally — with ICC color management.
QR Code Generator
Styled QR codes with a logo, exported as PNG.
Credit Card Generator
Luhn-valid test card numbers for QA and payment testing.
Games at XPLOIT
- Tiny Boo: Homecoming — a cozy mobile adventure for iOS and Android, currently in development. The studio's flagship project.
- IDLED Survival — an idle survival RPG on Telegram, released in 2023. Your world keeps living while you sleep.
- Sky Ball: The Orion — a minimalist space puzzle with slingshot physics and 160+ levels.
- Egocentrism — a nominee for the Game Development World Championship 2021 award.
Open source & writing
- tabs-broadcast — an npm library for cross-tab communication (how it works).
- An article on Habr about building a library for high-load interfaces, written during the Play2Live days.

How I Think About Work
I don't see software as just code. A good system should solve a real problem, be understandable for the people who use it, and remain maintainable for the people who build it. I like moving fast, but I also care about architecture, clarity, and long-term usefulness.
The work I enjoy most lives between disciplines — where product, design, business, and engineering meet, and someone has to actually understand the problem before reaching for a framework.
Beyond Code
Not everything I build is software. Two ongoing creative projects:
- Tiny Boo Movie — an AI-animated YouTube series set in the world of Tiny Boo. Writing, directing, and an AI video pipeline, all in-house.
- Music — I produce and release music with AI-assisted workflows under Diva Rogue and Zynthar, available on Spotify and Apple Music (how I started).
These aren't just hobbies — they're where I stress-test the AI content pipelines that later show up in my professional work.
What I Can Help With
- Founders & early products — building MVPs, designing technical architecture, and choosing the right level of complexity so you ship instead of over-engineering.
- Game studios — Unity features, game UI, analytics, monetization, store compliance, and production tooling.
- Real-time products — multiplayer infrastructure, live platforms, WebRTC/WebSocket systems that hold up under load.
- Teams & operations — automation workflows, internal tools, AI-assisted pipelines, and improving existing systems and processes.
- Consulting — product and engineering decisions, backed by 15 years of shipping.
If you have an idea, a product, a technical mess, or a project that needs a strong engineering hand, I can help you shape it, build it, improve it, or bring it to production.
